JANUARY 2008 |
Hello all and happy new year! Last year was fantastic for us over here, with plenty of chart toppers and support from the best of the best in the house world. As well we managed to do plenty of projects for commercials and videogames, so all in all we couldn't have asked for more! This month we have the release of Bruce Aisher's amazing "Lost" & "Bring You Down" tracks, which have received support from Pete Tong, John Digweed, Sasha, Sander Kleinenberg, and many others. As well, we are just preparing the list now of winners for the Musetta: Peace & Melody limited edition vinyl, so in February we'll announce them and explain how to redeem your prize. Thank you everyone for a fantastic 07, and let's continue the success throughout 08. NEW RELEASES
Hailing from the more sedate world of the Home Counties, Bruce Aisher is known for a number of accomplishments. For one, his partnership in the 90's with Luke Brancaccio was legendary, producing hit classics such as "It's Gonna Be...(A Lovely Day)" and "Everybody". He is a brilliant, brilliant mind, we cannot emphasize this point strong enough, and it is a true privilege to be working with him. Bruce is a trained musician, growing up and being taught Jazz, and the avant garde of classical minimalism, through the likes of Steve Reich and Philip Glass. The less is more approach to production is how he runs the shop, and it works over many times in the clubs. He as well does soundtrack compositions and movie score work, and is part member of the massively successful UK band, Suicide Sports Club. As well he is a writer for Future Magazine and Electronic Musician, writing columns and articles on the regular. If this is not already enough, he is also a university professor in the UK. The tracks in question here are two numbers that are different in scope, but ultimate proper club tracks. "Lost" is a twisted, funky, hypnotic number that has seen support from John Digweed, Sasha, Nick Warren, and Desyn Masiello, to name but a few. It was as well included on Disc 2 of Sander Kleinenberg's latest "This Is..." Renaissance compilation. A fabulous track, it is a dance floor devastator. One the flip is a remix Bruce made of Roast Groove, entitled "Bring It Down". It's proper rock-house, that's the best way to describe it. It has that striking resemblance to works by Redanka, and it's full on grungy, dirty house music. A female vox floats overtop, angry at times even, and it's just a fantastic track. This EP is reflective of the quality and diversity that is Bruce, and believe us when we say that we have more bombs from him that will be showcased around the WMC period. |
